Dear Colleague,
We are thrilled to announce the speaker program for the upcoming 2024-2025 season of Fairfield County Dental Club. We have assembled an impressive lineup of speakers from across the United States and worldwide. This season marks our 36th year of providing advanced continuing education in Fairfield, Connecticut. We will be hosting four full days of continuing education and four evening programs.
We are particularly excited about the younger dentists committed to learning, networking, and in-person socializing. Your eagerness to grow and improve brings immense joy and satisfaction to our older members, who take pride in seeing you become competent clinicians and wonderful human beings.
We want to thank all of you, for your unwavering support. It is because of your dedication that we can make this happen. Make sure to mark these dates in your calendar now!

February 7, 2025 – Ben Miraglia, DDS / Full Day Seminar
“The Critical Role of The Dental Team to Identify Early Childhood Malocclusion”
The discussions/clinical cases will include opportunities to help all ages from 3 – to any age
This lecture is a call to action for all dental professionals who are dedicated to preventing sleep-disordered breathing rather than waiting to treat the devastating effects it imposes: ADHD, bed wetting, asthma, cardiovascular disease, lower IQ, depression, and other maladies. With an estimated 22 million Americans suffering from obstructed sleep apnea (OSA) and 80% of the cases of moderate and severe obstructive sleep apnea undiagnosed, the dental team is called upon to help reverse this crisis. By understanding the root cause of OSA, malocclusion, and soft-tissue dysfunction, hygienists and dentists can take proactive steps in applying lifesaving protocols to prevent OSA in patients of all ages.
Learning Objectives:
Participants will be able to:
1. Understand the etiology of sleep-disordered breathing (SDB)/malocclusion.
2. Evaluate symptoms and co-diagnose to help prevent/treat early development issues.
3. Intercept patients BEFORE they become sleep apnea patients.
4. Recognize the devastating effects of underdeveloped maxillae and mandibles.
5. Work collaboratively with the medical community.
6. Understand the value of myofunctional therapy.
7. Discover a new airway development paradigm that will change how you practice dentistry for good.

February 26, 2025 – Multiple Case Presentation / Evening Seminar
“Comprehensive Treatment Planning”
Dinner will be served, followed by a lively two-hour discussion of Treatment Planning/Hand On. Five to ten participants will present cases to be treatment planned or show already completed cases. This will be followed by a spirited discussion of the therapeutic alternatives that exist – an excellent way to exchange ideas and expand your knowledge base. This forum will also serve as a learning crucible for difficult cases. Please note that you do not have to present cases to participate.

March 26, 2025 – Gregory A. Toback, DMD / Evening Seminar
“Diagnosis, Treatment and Prevention of Peri-implantitis”
The modern dentition of our patient pool involves a mix of natural teeth and dental implants for many of our patients. Although the pathogenesis of dental diseases of natural teeth has been researched for generations, the ailing implant presents a rather new challenge for the clinician and is not clearly understood. The next generation of clinicians will be faced with a population of patients requiring expert care of their titanium dentition. Dr. Toback will review the common understanding of ailing implants. He will specifically emphasize early detection of peri-implant disease, and explore proper diagnosis, etiologies, and available treatment options with a focus on evidence based approaches.
Learning Objectives:
1. Review current classification of implant complications and peri-implant disease.
2. Understand the etiologies of peri-implant inflammation and attachment loss.
3. Review the risk factors that may play a role in peri-implant disease.
4. Present available treatment options and provide a basis for decision making on which approaches will be most predictable in achieving desired clinical results. Emphasis on non-surgical therapy, incisional surgery and laser implant surgery will be explored.
